According to Le Parisien, Paris Saint-Germain will look to make Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal (16) one of their priorities over the summer as they attempt to replace the outgoing Kylian Mbappé (25).
The sixteen-year-old prodigy has emerged as one of the most exciting talents in Europe and was at the front and centre of Barcelona’s European campaign until PSG knocked the club out in a second-leg comeback in the quarter-finals of the Champions League.
His talents have earned him admirers in the French capital and they dream of stealing him from the Catalans. PSG will have the funds after removing the wages of Neymar, Lionel Messi, Marco Veratti, and Sergio Ramos last summer to make a big splash in the upcoming window.
However, Yamal is thought to have a €1 billion buyout clause in his contract, a statement from the Barcelona hierarchy that they view the player as being untransferable. Le Parisien reports that PSG will hope instead that their good relationship with the teenager’s agent might help matters.
Yamal is represented by Jorge Mendes who is on excellent terms with PSG’s sporting director Luis Campos. They dream that the teenager might push for a move helping Barcelona to come to the negotiating table and consider an offer of around €200 million for the young star.
