In a nail-biting 4-4 draw, Adelaide United welcomed Canberra United to the Coopers Stadium. The two sides had last met back in March with Canberra taking all 3 points from a dominant 4-2 victory.

Alana Jancekvski got the goal-scoring action underway just nine minutes into the tie as Adelaide’s No.23 fired home her spot-kick. It wouldn’t be long however before the visitors restored the deadlock.
Vesna Milivojevic found the back of the net just seven minutes later. A second goal for Canberra saw the visitors go ahead at the break thanks to a goal from Michelle Hayman.
The second half brought plenty of goal-scoring action, with two of the five goals coming from the spot. Mariah Lee got the second half underway as the Adelaide No.7 buried her penalty to bring the tie back level. However, just nine minutes later, Nickoletta Flannery of Canberra fired home her own spot-kick to put the visitors firmly back into the lead.
The final 30 minutes of the game was filled with drama as Hannah Blake and Emilia Murray found the back of the net for the hosts. A second for Milivojevic however, ensured that Adelaide and Canberra would come away from the tie with a single point from the thrilling 4-4 draw.
Adelaide United will welcome the Central Coast Mariners to the Coopers Stadium before facing back-to-back away days to Melbourne Victory and Perth Glory.
Canberra will travel to face Melbourne City before facing a tough home tie to Perth. A postponed meeting with Sydney FC will give Njegosh Popovich’s side a match-free week ahead of their away fixture with Western Sydney.
